BREXIT: JOHNSON IN RACE TO WIN SUPPORT FOR DEAL

BBC News says the prime minister will attempt to persuade MPs to back his Brexit deal today ahead of what is Brexit: Johnson in race to win support for dealexpected to be a knife-edge vote in the Commons on Saturday. The PM is “very confident” MPs will back his new deal. But the DUP’s opposition to his plans means he faces a battle to get it through parliament. It is believed he will now focus on Labour MPs in Leave-voting areas, Tory Brexiteers and rebels he expelled from his party. And conversations with the DUP will continue despite their insistence they would oppose the deal.

EXTINCTION REBELLION: THE ACCOUNTS WORKER, 35 DRAGGED OFF THE TOP OF A TUBE TRAIN ACCUSED OF ‘JEOPARDISING THE MOVEMENT’ BY FELLOW ACTIVISTS

The Daily Mail says an Extinction Rebellion protester who was dragged off the top of a tube train by angry commuters has been  Extinction Rebellion: The accounts worker, 35 dragged off the roof of a tube train accused of ‘jeopardising the movement’ by fellow activistsrevealed to be an accounts administrator from Bristol. James Mee, 35 has been accused by fellow activists of ‘jeopardising the movement’ with his stunt. Mee along with a Buddist teacher, a grandfather and a vicar brought chaos to three stations east of the capital. Both Mee and Mark Ovland, 36 were dragged from the top of a Tube train at Canning Town and roughed up by enraged commuters. Their actions have led to Extinction Rebellion cancelling its planned Gatwick ‘shutdown.’

THEME PARK TO BE PROSECUTED AFTER DEATH OF GIRL, 11 WHO FELL OUT OF THE WATER RAPIDS

The Sun reports  Drayton Manor theme park is facing prosecution after an 11-year-old schoolgirl plunged to her death Theme park to be prosecuted after death of girl, 11 who fell out of water rapidsfrom a water ride. Evha Jannath died from fatal chest injuries when she fell from the attraction in 2017. The 11-year-old was one of a party of children visiting from a school in Leicester. Now, more than two years on from her death, the park is facing a charge under Section 3 of the Health and Safety at Work act. Criminal proceedings haven’t yet started because an inquest into Evha’s death, due in November, is required beforehand.
