BORIS JOHNSON TO ‘SEE WHAT JUDGES SAY’ ON RECALLING PARLIAMENT

BBC News reports the Prime Minister has said he will “wait and see what the judges say” before deciding whether to recall Parliament. Whilst Edinburgh’s court of sessions said the shutdown was illegal, London’s High Court said it wasBoris Johnson to ‘see what judges say’ on recalling parliament not a court matter. The Supreme Court will hear two appeals that will determine the final ruling as to whether the PM acted lawfully in suspending Parliament for five weeks. Boris Johnson said he had the “greatest respect for the judiciary.” MPs are not scheduled to return until 14 October. The UK is due to leave the EU on 31 October

HACKNEY FIRES: 80 FIREFIGHTERS TACKLING BLAZE IN BLOCK OF FLATS IN NORTH LONDON

The Independent says around 80 firefighters are battling a large blaze at a block of flats in Hackney. London Fire Hackney fire: 80 firefighters tackling blaze in block of flats in North LondonBrigade (LFB) has sent 25 engines to tackle the fire. And the brigade said part of a balcony is alight from the ground to the fifth floor. According to the paper, LFB was alerted at 10:39 pm and has taken 67 calls about the fire. The cause of the fire is currently unknown. And it has not yet reported any injuries.

COUPLE WHO STOLE £58M FROM HBOS TOLD TO REPAY £10M OR FACE 10 YEARS IN JAIL

The Sun says a couple who made £58 million from an HBOS bank swindle of more than £245million has been told to Couple who stole £58m from HBOS told to repay £10m or face 10 years in jailpay back more then £10million- or face another 10 years each in jail. Banker Lynden Scourfied, 57 forced struggling clients to use his friend David Mill’s service while authorising huge loans to high-risk customers. Mills and his wife Alison, 54, Micheal Bancroft, 76 and John Cartwright, 73 stole millions to fund the purchase of properties across Europe, birthday bashes in Thailand and Barbados and trips to Ascot.
