Bus driver stabbed to death ‘on his way home after his shift’ | UK News A bus driver has died after being stabbed on his way home from work. 52-year-old Derek Thomas was attacked on Tuesday night on Northwold Road in Stoke Newington. The London bus driver had reportedly finished his shift driving the 106 bus and was making his way home when he was stabbed. Huw Edwards pleads guilty to child abuse image charges One of Britain’s most famous news presenters, Huw Edwards, has pleaded guilty to three counts of making indecent images of children. He admitted having 41 indecent images of children, which had been sent to him by another man on WhatsApp, Westminster Magistrates’ Court heard. They included seven category A images, the most serious classification – two of which showed a child aged between about seven and nine. Anjem Choudary jailed for life for directing terror group Anjem Choudary, the leader of the banned terrorist group al-Muhajiroun, has been sentenced to life in prison and may never be released. He was convicted of directing the group and encouraging support for it through online meetings. Choudary, now 57, cannot apply for parole until he is over 85 years old. He was visibly shocked when handed a minimum sentence of 28 years at Woolwich Crown Court. Most of Tuesday’s front pages lead on the knife attack on children at a holiday club in Southport. Two children have died and nine injured after a knifeman entered a dance class and started the attack. A 17-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
