Sydney Sweeney has furiously called out trolls who’ve been tagging her family in nude scenes she filmed for Euphoria, describing their behaviour as ‘disgusting and unfair’.
In 2019, the 25-year-old made her debut on the HBO drama as Cassie, who seeks out male validation and was recently in a relationship with the manipulative Nate (Jacob Elordi).
Sydney appears in several scenes on the show that involve nudity, with the actress previously emphasising that she never felt as though she was made to do anything that she didn’t feel comfortable with.
In Euphoria season one, viewers learn early on that naked videos and photos of Cassie have been shared widely by her peers at school.
In a stark parallel to the fictional tale, Sydney spoke to GQ magazine about how people have shared nude stills from the drama on Instagram and tagged her relatives.
‘It got to the point where they were tagging my family. My cousins don’t need that. It’s completely disgusting and unfair,’ she said.

‘You have a character that goes through the scrutiny of being a sexualised person at school and then an audience that does the same thing.’
Speaking of the series’ writer and director Sam Levinson, Sydney once again addressed the claims that she had to convince him not to include gratuitous nude scenes, which she has d
‘Those people aren’t on set, they don’t know what’s going on,’ she stated.
‘I trust Sam so much with what he does with Cassie. It feels really good as an actor to be able to trust the filmmaker because it just changes the entire experience.’

Sydney recently spoke out to address remarks she made when she appeared to insinuate that she would not be able to afford to take six months off from work, explaining that her comments were taken out of context.
While speaking for Elle’s 2022 Women in Hollywood November issue, she recalled: ‘I was asked if I wanted to have a family and I said yes. And then I was asked why I didn’t have one yet, and I was like, I don’t have time to take even, like, a six-month break.
‘Like, I don’t have time to be able to start this family. I’m working so much and I’m focusing on that right now.
‘And so it was kind of skewed with the public and taken out of context, which was insane to watch and kind of disappointing, too, because I think that being a mother, and a working mother, is really important.’
Euphoria is available to watch on Sky and NOW.
