Moises Caicedo is on the verge of completing a move to Chelsea
Moises Caicedo is reportedly set to sign an eight-year Chelsea FC contract with the deal expected to be completed on Monday, August 14.
Chelsea have beaten Liverpool in the race to land Brighton midfielder Caicedo after agreeing a British record transfer worth £115m with the Seagulls.
Caicedo, 21, agreed personal terms with Chelsea earlier in the summer and the deal is now on the verge of completion.
According to sources in Chelsea, Caicedo is set for his medical on Monday and the transfer will be wrapped up on the same day, with the player set to sign a contract until 2031 with the option of a year extension.
Caicedo has flourished since joining Brighton in 2021, helping the Seagulls qualify for Europe for the first time in the club’s history and reach the FA Cup semi-finals last season.
He will become Pochettino’s latest summer signing following the likes of Nicolas Jackson, Christopher Nkunku and Axel Disasi.
Liverpool thought they were set to welcome Caicedo to Anfield after agreeing a stunning £111m deal for the midfielder.

Jurgen Klopp is a known admirer of the Ecuadorian and is keen to bolster his options in midfield following the departures of Jordan Henderson and Fabinho.
But Caicedo’s preference was always Stamford Bridge and he effectively turned down a move to Liverpool to hold out for Chelsea.
The deal will make Caicedo the most expensive signing in Premier League history. Enzo Fernandez, who joined Chelsea for £105m in January, previously held the record.
Chelsea have the option to extend it until 2032.
