Aaron Carter’s housekeeper, who tragically found his body, was a homeless woman he had taken in and offered a job, it has been reported.
On Saturday, news broke that the former child star had been found dead in his home in California, aged just 34.
Tributes quickly started flowing, including from his ex-girlfriends Hilary Duff and Lindsay Lohan, as well as his older brother, Backstreet Boy’s band member Nick Carter.
It is now being reported that the housekeeper who found Carter was a previously homeless woman who he had taken in to help look after his property following a break-in.
Sources told TMZ that Carter and his ex-fiance Melanie Miller went away for a few nights last month to visit their son Prince, who is currently being cared for by her mother.
While they were away they were alerted to a possible break-in at their home after the front door was left open and cigarette butts were left behind.

They returned and were convinced by a friend to organise someone to housesit when needed.
That friend had someone in mind: a woman from his church who had found herself homeless.
Settling on a deal with her, they offered her a free place to stay whilst also asking her to do odd jobs around the property.
The source went on to claim that after just a few weeks of living there, she found Carter’s body in his bathtub.
The Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department is still waiting on toxicology reports to determine the cause of death.

Carter’s death comes after family, friends and fans were worried for his wellbeing, with the musician struggling with addiction issues for many years.
He had reportedly missed an online rehab therapy session the evening before he was found dead in his home.
On Sunday, Backstreet Boy Nick shared a series of photos with his younger brother to social media, writing that his ‘heart has been broken today’.
‘Even though my brother and I have had a complicated relationship, my love for him has never ever faded.
‘Sometimes we want to blame someone or something for a loss. But the truth is that addiction and mental illness is the real villain here.’
