Fears rise in south Gaza after Israeli orders to evacuate
Israel’s latest evacuation orders in Gaza have led to panic and an “even more hellish scenario” according to the UN.
Israel’s military has dropped leaflets and used social media to order the evacuation of a fifth of Khan Younis, the main city in southern Gaza.
In just three weeks the number of displaced Gazans has almost doubled to 1.9 million. Aid groups have warned that people are running out of places to flee.
Israel’s military is expanding its ground operations to cover “all areas” of the Palestinian territory, they are continuing their push southwards.
The ongoing conflict has seen internet and communication services across Gaza go down again, only adding to the fear.
The Gaza health ministry says more than 15,800 people have been killed in Israel’s retaliatory campaign, including about 6,000 children.
