Emily in Paris is back for season 3 and after that dilemma of a ending on a cliff-hanger, Lily Collins’ character is still in a pickle.
The end of season two saw Emily torn between taking a new job and leaving Paris behind or staying in the French capital so she can continue to butcher the language.
The trailer for the upcoming third season of Darren Star’s drama has arrived and shows that of course, things aren’t as simple as deciding to stay, and she’s at a crossroads.
Torn between accepting a job offer from her boss Madeline (Kate Walsh) that would require her to leave Paris, or to follow her prickly mentor Sylvie (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu) to a new company, she’s got her work cut out for her.
At the same time she’s also being pulled between two guys, Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) and Alfie (Lucien Laviscount), who she can’t quite decide between.
As she says at the start of the trailer: ‘My entire life I’ve been practical. I make one romantic decision, and it bit me in the ass.’

Facing increasing pressure to confirm her commitment to each job offer, she’s starting to struggle, or as her best friend Mindy (Ashley Park) puts it: ‘You’re doing double duty.’
Although she’s still persevering with her French language lessons, they start to force her to decide what she’s going to do after she is taught a phrase that translates to ‘not choosing is still choosing’.
‘Even not choosing has consequences so it’s still a choice,’ her teacher tells her.

Alfie isn’t sparing any expense trying to woo Emily, taking her to the French countryside to ride in fancy fast cars and even take a trip in a hot air balloon.
Meanwhile Gabriel is all about expressing his emotions, drunkenly telling her in the back of a cab that she changed his life.
When she tries to explain to Sylvie just how crazy things are getting as she battles some ‘existential’ angst’, she’s told how she’s acting ‘so American’.
