Eleven Israelis and 33 Palestinians freed as truce extended
Another 11 Israeli hostages have been released by Hamas tonight, in exchange for 33 Palestinians – who were released from Israeli prisons, reportedly including 30 children and three women.
So far, more than 50 hostages have been released during the extended temporary ceasefire.
Just hours before the four-day truce was due to expire, Qatar said Israel and Hamas have agreed to a two-day extension.
Over the extended period, Hamas has committed to releasing another 20 women and children, US national security spokesman John Kirby said.
Further lorry-loads of humanitarian supplies entered the Gaza Strip on Monday with food, fuel and medicines being distributed by aid organisations.
The current death toll sits at more than 14,500 people according to the Gaza health ministry.
