Ukraine ministers killed as helicopter comes down A helicopter crash in Ukraine has claimed the lives of eighteen people, including Ukraine’s interior affairs minister. The helicopter crashed beside a kindergarten in an eastern suburb of the capital Kyiv. Three children were amongst those killed, and 15 more are being treated in hospital. Minister Denys Mosastyrsky, was with eight others in the helicopter. His first deputy minister and the state secretary also died. Greta Thunberg detained at German coal protest Climate activist Greta Thunberg was briefly detained by police at a protest in western Germany. Thunberg was protesting, alongside other campaigners, seeking to stop the abandoned village of Lützerath from being demolished for the expansion of a coal mine. Police say the Swedish activist was not arrested and said she was released after an ID check. They also confirmed all of those detained would not be charged. A man questioned over a shooting at a church in Euston, central London, has been bailed.
Metropolitan Police officers arrested the 22-year-old on suspicion of attempted murder on Sunday.
But he has now been bailed pending further inquiries to a date in mid-February.
A seven-year-old girl injured in the shooting on Saturday remains in a serious but stable condition in hospital, the force added.

Italian held in EU bribery probe agrees to tell all An alleged leader of a criminal network involved in an EU corruption scandal has agreed to reveal which countries were involved and how it operated. Pier Antonio Panzeri’s lawyer said his client has agreed to “tell all” after reaching a deal with prosecutors.
