Arab News reports an emotional Greta Thunberg tore into world leaders at a UN climate summit on Monday. Greta accused them of betraying her generation by failing to tackle greenhouse gas emissions, as announcements by major economies fell far short of expectation. The teen’s speech was a defining moment of the meeting. Before the conference, the UN said 66 countries vowed to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, along with 10 regions, 102 cities and scores of businesses.

VIOLENCE AND CHAOS SPREAD THROUGH HONG KONG AS PROTESTS ENTER 16TH WEEK
CNN says violence continued across Hong Kong over the weekend as protesters targeted subway stations and shopping malls in an escalation as the city enters its sixteenth consecutive week of unrest. Police and protesters clashed in multiple districts. Protesters threw petrol bombs and set fires as police responded with tear gas and rubber bullets. However, protesters avoided pitched battles by retreating and moving around the city quickly.

ANOTHER ‘HIGHLY LIKELY’: UK, FRANCE & GERMANY BLAME IRAN FOR SAUDI OIL ATTACK, WITHOUT EVIDENCE OR INVESTIGATION
RT News reports without evidence, leaders of the UK, France and Germany joined the US in blaming Iran for the recent Saudi oil attacks. In a joint statement by Boris Johnson, Emmanuel Macron and Angela Merkel it said: “It is clear to us that Iran bears responsibility for this attack. There is no other plausible explanation.” Adding: “We support ongoing investigations to establish further details.” In other words, to them, Iran’s guilt is a foregone conclusion.
