BLASTS NEAR US EMBASSY IN KABUL, ON 9/11 ANNIVERSARY
Arab News says a large explosion was heard in Kabul near the US Embassy on the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks on the US. Smoke was seen over Kabul minutes after midnight and sirens could be heard. Within the US Embassy, over the loudspeaker employees heard: “An explosion caused by a rocket has occurred on compound.” It would be the first major attack in the Afghan capital since Donald Trump called off US-Taliban peace talks. The US and the Taliban were reportedly close to securing a deal that would’ve ended America’s longest war. The suicide attack in Kabul last week, which killed one US service member is one reason why the US President called off the talks.

ISRAELI PM VOWS TO ANNEX WEST BANK’S JORDAN VALLEY IF RE-ELECTED
RT News says The Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu has said he will annex the Jordan Valley if re-elected. Jordan Valley is part of the occupied West Bank and home to Israeli settlements. At a conference on Tuesday, he promised to “apply Israeli sovereignty” to the Jordan Valley. And described it as “our eastern border, our defence wall.” According to the PM, the annexation of the Jordan Valley will be his first step if elected next week. And there will be further land claims after the publication of US President Trump’s Israel-Palestine peace plan. The PM has called the plan a “historic opportunity” to negotiate the future of the region with the US President.

FOUR DEAD IN SHOOTING IN THE DUTCH CITY OF DORDRECHT
Euronews says Four people, including two children, have been killed in what police described as a “family drama.” In an earlier statement, police indicated that a 35-year-old man and two girls aged 8 and 12, had died and the fourth person, a woman, had been hospitalised in a “worrying condition.” But police later confirmed the 28-year-old woman had also died. Authorities said “there are strong indications” that the shooting in the City’s Sterrenburg district is “a family drama.” And the father, a police officer, maybe the shooter. Police had confirmed to CNN that the shooting was not terror-related.
