FAREWELL THERESA: BORIS JOHNSON’S FIRST DAY, WHAT TO EXPECT
BBC News details what Boris Johnson’s first day as Prime Minister is expected to look like. From noon (BTS) today, Theresa May will take part in her last PM questions, deliver her final speech and head to Buckingham Palace to tender her resignation.
After Ms May leaves, Johnson will arrive at the palace and will be invited to form a government- this process is known as “kissing hands.” After a speech outside No.10, Johnson will officially meet his staff at his new home. The Prime Minister is expected to announce senior cabinet appointments and take calls from international leaders.

UK THREAT LEVEL SYSTEM WILL INCLUDE ALL FORMS OF TERRORISM
BBC News reports, risks posed by all different forms of extremists will now be included in the UK’s terror threat level system. The old system only assessed the threat from “international terrorism” but today it was confirmed that right-wing extremists and Northern Ireland will be included.
Home Secretary Sajid Javid has said the new assessment will cover all forms of terrorism “irrespective of the ideology that inspires them.”
Mr Javid announced further changes had been made including updating the current definition of some of the threat levels. The new definitions have been simplified to “ensure clarity.” The threat level system is to allow security services and police forces to determine what security measures to undertake and gives the public a better understanding as to why these measures are necessary.

BULLIED SCHOOLBOY DIED FROM A WOUND TO HIS NECK AFTER JUMPING IN FRONT OF A TRAIN
The Mirror reports, Sam Conner, 14 died from a laceration to his neck after he jumped in front of a train. The ‘bullied’ schoolboy jumped onto train tracks on Monday 15th July. Sam’s father and brother had identified his body at the mortuary.
It has been speculated Sam had been the victim of bullying, he was described as “kind and caring” by his friends.
A Detective Inspector, from British Transport Police, said: “This continues to be an active investigation, however, our initial enquiries suggest that tragically, this may have been a deliberate act. Of course, our investigation is ongoing and we will provide our evidence to HM Coroner as part of an inquest into Sam’s death.”
