Uttarakhand tunnel collapse: Rescuers explore new ways to reach trapped Indian workers
The rescue plan to free 41 workers, who are currently trapped inside a tunnel in Uttarakhand state, has suffered a major setback, but authorities are working on new ways to free the trapped workers.
Rescuers had been drilling a hole horizontally through the rocks to allow the men to crawl through.
But that operation has been halted as the drilling machine broke down on Friday.
The workers have now been stuck for two weeks after a landslide caused part of the tunnel to collapse.
The operation has been challenging from the start due to the presence of falling boulders, loose soil and metal inside the tunnel.
