Have you ever seen anything more beautiful than London embracing Barbie? (Picture: Doug Peters/PinPep)
London is well and truly getting into the Barbie spirit.
The hype is definitely real for Greta Gerwig’s Barbie film, starring Margot Robbie as the titular doll and an incredibly dedicated Ryan Gosling as Ken.
The London premiere saw the stars flock to Leicester Square last night, with the likes of Dua Lipa, Amanda Holden and Sam Smith making an appearance.
Margot shone bright in a 1960s iconic Barbie ball gown, while Ryan gave big Kenergy in a dapper baby blue suit as the red carpet turned pink for the occasion.
But it isn’t just the entertainment industry that are having their fuchsia moment in anticipation for the film’s release on July 21.
In fact, the whole world seems to have gone Barbie mad as the film even caused an international pink paint shortage, and rocketed the Barbiecore fashion trend to extreme new heights.

London is also going bonkers for Barbie as the London Eye, Trafalgar Square, the Oxo Tower, and The W Hotel all lit up in solidarity with the film last night.
But it didn’t end there, as a pink Doctor Who tardis also landed on the banks of Tower Bridge.
And if you hailed down a cab last night, you might have noticed your ride was encrusted in sparkly Barbie pink glitter.

We have never loved anything quite so much as Barbie pink London.
On turning London pink, Laura Citron, CEO of Visit London said: ‘Barbie is a global icon and we’re excited to partner with the upcoming movie Barbie to turn some of London’s iconic landmarks pink in her honour.
‘With so much of the film shot locally at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden and brought to life by a wealth of local creative talent who worked on the film, we’re proud to celebrate London’s role in what is sure to be one of the biggest films of the year.’
As well as Ryan and Margot, the Barbie cast also includes Will Ferrell, Ugly Betty’s America Ferrera, SNL’s Kate McKinnon, Marvel’s Simu Liu, Insecure’s Issa Rae, new Doctor Who Ncuti Gatwa, Michael Cera, Alexandra Shipp, Emerald Fennell, and Emma Mackey.
The soundtrack is also set to be on repeat all summer long, as Ryan himself will be singing (yes, exciting) alongside Ava Max, Charli XCX, Dua Lipa, Nicki Minaj, and Sam Smith.
The excitement is real. We are ready.
