Gary Neville was impressed by Mykhailo Mudryk’s Chelsea debut and admitted he would not have enjoyed playing against the big-money Blues signing.
Mudryk, who completed an £89m move to Stamford Bridge last week, made his Premier League debut in Chelsea’s goalless draw with Liverpool.
The former Shakhtar Donetsk winger started on the bench but replaced Lewis Hall shortly after half-time and showed glimpses of his potential.
Mudryk used his quick feet to dance his way into the penalty area before his effort was blocked, and almost got on the end of a Hakim Ziyech cross with good movement at the back post.
Speaking before the match, Chelsea manager Graham Potter warned fans that Mudryk would need time to ‘adapt’ to his new surroundings, but Neville was impressed by the Ukrainian’s debut in the English top-flight.
‘Seeing Mudryk for 10 mins, I wouldn’t like to play against him!’ the former Manchester United and England defender posted on Twitter.
The goalless draw at Anfield leaves Chelsea 10th in the Premier League, while Liverpool are eighth.
‘I thought the performance was good,’ Blues boss Potter said. ‘Happy with the team, the energy, what we tried to do.
‘At Anfield, it is always tough. It is a clean sheet and a point, we move forward. First half, we were decent, unlucky not to get the goal. It is what it is.
‘They started the second half well, and we adjusted a couple of things and gained control, had a couple of chances. Overall, a positive day, apart from the fact we wanted three points.’
