Faithless changed the game of electronic dance music, selling millions of records, charting at number one across the world, and being one of the greatest dance bands of all time.
The group, made of Maxi Jazz, Rollo and Sister Bliss, released a number of hit tracks including Insomnia and We Come 1 after forming in 1995.
They produced seven studio albums, with their most recent being 2020’s All Blessed and have released a number of compilation albums and have headlined some of the biggest festivals in the world, including on Glastonbury’s Pyramid stage in 2002.
The group were also nominated for the Brit Award for best British dance act in 1999 and 2002.
On Saturday, it was announced lead vocalist Maxi Jazz had died aged 65.
The group announced on Facebook: ‘We are heartbroken to say Maxi Jazz died last night. He was a man who changed our lives in so many ways. He gave proper meaning and message to our music.

‘He was a lovely human being with time for everyone and a wisdom that was both profound and accessible. It was an honour and, of course, a true pleasure to work with him.’
The post added: ‘He was a brilliant lyricist, a DJ, a Buddhist , a magnificent stage presence, car lover, endless talker, beautiful person, moral compass and genius.’

Insomnia
Insomnia is Faithless’ biggest hit, having been released in 1995 as their second single.
The song reached number 27 on the UK Singles chart and topped the UK Dance Chart.
It was re-released the following year and featured on their 1996 debut album Reverence.
Salva Mea
Salva Mea featured Rollo’s sister Dido as a vocalist, and was the group’s first single.
After being re-released in 1996, it peaked at number nine on the UK Singles Chart, and was remixed and reissued the following year to further success.
Don’t Leave
Don’t Leave was the band’s third single and reached number 34 on the UK Singles Chart.
It was also included on the soundtrack of 1997 film A Life Less Ordinary, with the song being released in a remixed form.
Reverence
Reverence was the leading song on their debut album, released in April 1996.
The album reached number 26 on the UK Albums Chart.
God Is A DJ
God Is a DJ was released in 1998 as part of Faithless’ second studio album, Sunday 8pm.
The single reached the sixth spot in the UK and topped the US Billboard Hot Dance Club Party Chart.
