Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) recently decided to propose to Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) in Coronation Street.
The decision came after Daisy’s recent cancer scare, which also sparked another relationship challenge for the couple. Haunted by memories of Sinead, Daniel became convinced that Daisy would get diagnosed with breast cancer and end up dying, just like his former partner.
Fortunately, the lump in Daisy’s breast turned out to be a cyst, but the thought of losing her was enough for Daniel to realise that he wants to be with her forever – so he planned a proposal.
However, after carefully placing the ring within a Christmas present under the tree, Daniel was horrified to return to the Barlow household and discover it had gone missing – they had been burgled.
A new video clip, take from the Christmas Day offering of the ITV soap, sees Daniel worrying to Jenny that he can’t propose without an engagement ring.
Jenny (Sally Ann Matthews), who has her hands full getting things ready for Christmas dinner, doesn’t see the problem. ‘Four words – Will. You. Marry. Me,’ she suggests.

Daniel, however, reckons that Daisy ‘deserves something special,’ especially in light of the fact that it’s the only time she’ll ever be proposed to – if his plans go right.
But without that all-important piece of jewellery to place on Daisy’s finger it looks like it’s going to take some Christmas magic – or a little help – if Daniel is going to make the Christmas proposal to Daisy that he’s been planning.
Coronation Street airs these scenes on Christmas Day on ITV1.
