Chelsea FC are a London based club that competes in the English Premier League.

Based in Fulham, West London and founded in 1905, the club is one of the most successful based on trophies and revenue.

They play their home games at Stamford Bridge Stadium or affectionately known as ‘The Bridge’.

Chelsea have paved the way for Tottenham to sign Nottingham Forest forward Brennan Johnson after pulling out of the race to sign the striker.

The 22-year-old was identified by Mauricio Pochettino as a solution to Chelsea’s problems in attack.

With Christopher Nkunku out until December, Nicolas Jackson is the only recognised centre forward at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues have looked goal-shy in their opening three Premier League matches and Johnson would have added some much needed help for Jackson.

But, after registering their interest with Forest, Chelsea subsequently pulled out of the race to sign the Wales international.

Sky Sports say that decision was down to Forest’s £50m asking price for Johnson, which Chelsea deemed excessive.

That decision has left Tottenham alone in the race to sign Johnson after Ange Postecoglou signed off a deal for the forward.

The Aussie wants to beef up his attack following the departure of Harry Kane, and Richarlison is yet to find the back of net this term.

It remains to be seen whether Spurs will pay Forest’s asking price but they have £86m from the sale of Kane.

Marcos Alonso wants to stay at Barcelona (Photo by Pedro Salado/Quality Sport Images/Getty Images)

Barcelona full-back Marcos Alonso has ‘no intention’ of leaving the club and is not interested in joining Manchester United.

The Spaniard, 32, has been shortlisted as an option by United to solve their crisis at left-back.

Luke Shaw is set to miss up to two months of action with a muscular injury, while Tyrell Malacia is currently sidelined.

Diogo Dalot deputised against Nottingham Forest but the Portuguese and Aaron Wan-Bissaka are now the only recognised and available full-backs to Erik ten Hag.

That’s led United to scour the market for emergency options, and Marc Cucurella and Sergio Reguillon have been considered.

Alonso has been shortlisted as another option, given Barcelona’s desperate need to raise funds.

But ESPN say the Spaniard has no interest in joining United as he wants to remain at the Camp Nou.

Alonso has another year to run on his deal at the club and he would ideally like to sign an extension as he’s happy in Spain.

The defender starts for Barcelona against Villarreal on Sunday night.

Chelsea want to make two further signings (Photo by Mike Stobe/Getty Images)

Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino admits the club are keen on making at least two further signings in the summer transfer window.

The Argentine’s opening summer at Stamford Bridge has been chaotic, with close to £300m of outgoings and £300m of incomings.

However, despite spending around £900m in the last three transfer windows, Chelsea’s squad looks light in attacking areas.

Christopher Nkunku’s injury means Nicolas Jackson is the only fit recognised centre forward in the squad.

Chelsea have struggled for goals in their opening two Premier League fixtures, and Pochettino admits he wants another offensive player.

But the Argentine also says he wants another goalkeeper to compete with Roberto Sanchez following his arrival from Brighton.

‘We need at least one goalkeeper,’ said Pochettino.‘We have good young goalkeepers, but they need time. And then we need one offensive player with the right profile.’
