Spring bank holiday weekend soaring heat, is summer finally on the way, or is this little heatwave another false dawn?
You’d be forgiven for thinking things have taken their time to warm up this year. While overall temperatures have been around average this spring, there’s been a real lack of very warm days.
England and Wales had to wait longer for the thermometer to climb above 19C than in any year since 1986. But the question on all our lips at the moment is … Can we ditch the portable heaters to the loft and take out the sun tan lotion?

In reality, it does seem like the temperatures will start rising, although be cautioned a clear sky at night will still feel cold at night, perfect for a snuggle with a blanket and a cup of hot chocolate in the garden to enjoy the sky at night.
One thing is for certain, the weather this weekend will be amazing, with the south of England expecting to hit 28 degrees, there’s going to be plenty to do. So let’s enjoy that.
Oh by the way, officially the meteorological summer doesn’t start until the 1st of June, but who pays attention to that anyway.
Oh! And don’t forget about the football, the relegation battle will be decided this weekend.
