Donald Trump accuses Murdock of betrayal over defamation testimony Donald Trump has criticised Rupert Murdoch, the owner of Fox News, for allegedly betraying the network’s hosts during recent legal testimony. In a defamation lawsuit brought against Fox News by Dominion Voting Systems, Murdoch conceded that some Fox hosts had endorsed baseless claims about voter fraud in the 2020 US presidential election. Trump took to social media to accuse Murdoch of selling out his stars, claiming that this move was hurting Fox News’ case and alienating its viewers. The former president also repeated his unsupported assertions of widespread ballot stuffing. Dominion Voting…

The agency cited ‘new intelligence’ that made it change its stance (Picture: Reuters) The Covid-19 virus most likely leaked from a laboratory in Wuhan, China, according to the US Energy Department. A report seen by the Wall Street Journal said the agency had updated its position in light of ‘new intelligence’ and the latest science on the virus. It previously said it was ‘undecided’ on how the pandemic started, adding that its new stance is scientifically speaking held with ‘low confidence’. The FBI previously reached the same conclusion with ‘moderate confidence’, while four other US agencies believe the pandemic was…

Biden administration proposes strict asylum restrictions at border The Biden administration has proposed stringent restrictions on asylum seekers at the US border. Once Covid border controls lift in May, the plan would make it more difficult for migrants to claim asylum. Adult asylum seekers would be required to use an app to schedule a meeting with US officials or to claim asylum in another country before reaching the US. Those who fail to comply would be ineligible for asylum if they subsequently arrive at the border. Those who failed to make the appointment would be presumed to have been found…

China may give Russia weapons and ammo – US US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has claimed that China is considering providing weapons and ammunition to Russia for the Ukraine conflict. He told CBS News that Chinese companies were already furnishing “non-lethal support” to Russia and recent reports suggest that Beijing may offer “lethal support.” Mr Blinken cautioned that such an escalation would have severe repercussions for China. While Chinese President Xi Jinping has not publicly criticised Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, he has called for peace and remained neutral in the conflict. A man in Denver shot and killed a 12-year-old boy after finding him in his stolen car.
On Sunday, a man filed a stolen vehicle report with the Denver Police Department after his vehicle was stolen in a shopping mall. Police have not yet identified the man.
At the same time, he began tracking his stolen vehicle with an app. He found his car 10 miles away, occupied by an undisclosed number of individuals.
‘When the vehicle’s owner approached the car, he was involved in an exchange of gunfire with the occupant(s) in the stolen vehicle,’ Denver police said in a news release.
It is unclear who shot first and how many shots were fired.
One of the occupants, later identified as 12-year-old Elias Armstrong, drove the car a few blocks away, where he was eventually found by police. The other occupants fled from the scene on foot.
Armstrong was wounded by a gunshot, and was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. His death was ruled a homicide by a medical examiner.
Police said the investigation into the shooting is still ongoing. The man was not arrested immediately after the shooting, and it is unclear if he will face any charges.
This is not the first instance of children dying as a result of gun violence this year. On January 17, a 14-year-old girl shot and killed an 11-year-old boy in Dallas, Texas.
The 14-year-old shooter had gotten into a fight with another girl, when one of the girls pulled out a gun and started shooting.
The victim, De’Evan McFall, was just a bystander watching the fight.
The shooter fled into a nearby apartment, but was quickly found by police. She has since been charged with murder. It is still unclear how she got ahold of the gun used in the first place.
