Real Madrid and Barcelona resume their rivalry tonight with the two Spanish giants set to meet in the final of the Spanish Super Cup.
The La Liga title race – which currently sees Barca sat one place and three points ahead of Madrid at the top of the league summit – has been temporarily put on hold whilst both sides compete for the first piece of silverware on offer this season.
Real Madrid beat Valencia on penalties after Wednesday night’s semi-final finished 1-1 after extra-time, whilst Barcelona also needed a shootout to overcome Real Betis following a 2-2 draw after 120 minutes.

Real Madrid vs Barcelona will kick-off tonight (January 15) at 7pm.

The match is being held at the King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The tournament is being played in Saudi Arabia until 2029, following a £98million partnership deal between the Saudi Arabian Football Federation and the Spanish Football Federation

The game will be shown live on BT Sport 1, with coverage commencing at 6.30pm.
BT Sport customers will be able to live stream the fixture on the BT Sport app and website.

What is the team news?
Eder Militao suffered a bout of dizziness against Valencia and will be assessed ahead of tonight’s game.

Eduardo Camavinga was withdrawn from the semi-final after a knock to the knee, whilst Lucas Vazquez also departed early due to a sprained ankle, with both players facing late fitness tests before the final.
Meanwhile, Aurelien Tchouameni and David Alaba were not part of the squad which travelled to the Middle East, instead electing to stay in the Spanish capital to continue their recovery from injury.
In the Barcelona camp, Xavi has no fresh injury concerns, with Robert Lewandowski and Jordi Alba able to play in spite of domestic suspensions.
