He may be the British solo artist with the most number one albums and holds the record for the most Brit Awards won, but there’s one feat Robbie Williams still wants to achieve – playing the Legends slot at Glastonbury.
The 48-year-old has performed at Worthy Farm just once across his over three-decades-long career, back in 1998 shortly after launching his solo career following his departure from Take That.
And the showman says that if he were to return to the Pyramid Stage, his performance would ‘take heads off.’
The star said on the Robbie Williams Rewind podcast: ‘I’ve not been asked yet. I know I’d slaughter it. It’s one of those times and places, and a reimagination of what Robbie Williams is.
‘When you do Glastonbury, perception changes more than any other festival. Diana Ross could play any festival and not get any traction, but she plays Glastonbury and everybody is talking about it, like Barry Gibb.
‘A lot of people there have an oblique perception of what I am. But if they saw me do it, I would take their heads off.’

He continued: ‘I look forward to doing it if I get the opportunity.’
The Legends slot takes place on the Sunday afternoon at the five-day festival and has seen the likes of Diana Ross, Kylie Minogue, Barry Gibb, Dolly Parton and James Brown perform over the years.
Artists rumoured to be heading up the slot this year include Roxy Music, Bon Jovi and the Spice Girls.

Emma Bunton previously revealed the group ‘have been asked’ but confirmed they wouldn’t be heading to Worthy Farm this year.
She told Dermot O’Leary on his BBC Radio 2 show in November: ‘Do you know what? I’ve never been to Glastonbury. Can you believe that?

‘And we have actually been asked but we won’t be doing it next year. But it’s definitely time, isn’t it?’
She continued: ‘Let’s all calm down for a minute. It would be good to do.’

Emma added to Metro last year: ‘Do you know what, obviously as the Spice Girls, we love working together, and when the time is right, things kind of happen.
‘But I love, love, love [them], and I can’t wait till we perform again. It’s got to be right for all of us, collectively, so hopefully that’ll happen at some point soon.’
