A rideshare passenger who reportedly became ill and was left on the roadway was struck by two vehicles and died.
Officers responded to a call about an automobile and pedestrian crash on the 15500 block of Interstate 25 in Thornton, Colorado, around 12.30am on New Year’s Day.
They found a lifeless adult female lying on the road, the Thornton Police Department said on Monday.
A preliminary investigation determined that the woman ‘had been traveling in a rideshare vehicle with friends and became ill inside the vehicle’, stated the police department.

The rideshare driver stopped driving and the passengers ended the ride after paying for it, according to cops.
‘A short time later one of the occupant riders walked out into the roadway and was sideswiped by a dark truck that never stopped but continued driving,’ police said.
Shortly after, another car hit the woman as she lay on the road. The driver of that vehicle stopped.
Police contacted the rideshare driver, who ‘fully cooperated’ in the investigation. The type of rideshare company was not mentioned by police.
The truck driver, identified as Adam Wooley, 33, of Frederick, Colorado, was arrested on Tuesday. He has been charged with a hit-and-run leading to death. Wooley’s truck was impounded.
Police said the victim’s identity would only be released by the Adams County Coroners Office. The victim’s illness while riding in the rideshare was not immediately disclosed.
