Star Wars and Cats: First reactions pour in
BBC News says two of this year’s most highly anticipated movies have had their world premieres and early reactions have been delivered.
The final film in the Star Wars trilogy had its big night in Hollywood, whilst the Cats premiere took place in New York.
One Twitter user described Cats as “bewildering…and magical.”
Star Wars fans hailed The Rise of Skywalker as “a terrific finale.”

Camila Cabello: Ex- Fifth Harmony singer ‘deeply ashamed’ of ‘racist’ Tumblr posts
Sky News says pop singer Camila Cabello has apologised after a string of racist posts resurfaced online. The posts on Tumblr are said to have been written when Cabello was a teenager.
The American singer wrote a post on Twitter saying she was “deeply ashamed” about her past use of “horrible and hurtful language.”

Eight-year-old Ryan Kaji becomes highest-paid YouTube star after earning £19.8 million
ITV News says an eight-year-old boy who reviews toys online has topped the list for the highest-earning YouTube star after making £19.8 million.
Ryan Kaji made the hefty sum between June 2018 and June 2019 and has topped Forbes’ list for a second-year in a row.
Ryan launched his channel – Ryan’s World – in 2015 and has gone on to have his own line of toys and other merchandise.

Selena Gomez to host her own show on BBC Radio 1 on Christmas Day
Music-News says Selena Gomez has joined the list of Radio 1’s Superstar Playlists, joining some of the biggest names in entertainment as they get set to take over the station’s airwaves this Christmas Day.
Selena, Louis Tomlinson, Little Mix and YUNGBLUD will each host a one hour slot on 25 December. The station will also feature a glittering line-up of Hollywood All-Stars as they each choose their favourite Christmas songs.

Tekashi 69 sentenced to two years in prison after testifying against his former gang
Buzzfeed says rapper Tekashi 69 was sentenced Wednesday in a federal court in Manhattan to two years in prison. The light sentence was part of a deal that saw him testify against fellow members of his former gang.
The rapper, born Daniel Hernandez, was also sentenced to five years of supervised probation. He has spent the past 13 months in jail, which will count toward his sentence.
He is set to be released at the end of 2020, when he’ll be sentenced to 300 hours of community service and will be required to pay a $35,000 fine.
