‘THIS WATER BELONGS TO OUR FARMERS’: MODI VOWS NOT A SINGLE DROP OF INDIAN WATER WILL FLOW TO PAKISTAN
RT News Indian PM Modi has vowed that unutilised river water shares currently flowing to Pakistan will be diverted to the fields of Indian farmers. “For the last 70 years, the waters that belonged to India and farmers of Haryana were going to Pakistan. Modi will stop it and bring it to your households.” the prime minister said. India and Pakistan share water from six rivers that flow through both nations under the Indus Waters Treaty. The 1960 treaty has never been broken between the two countries despite three wars. An estimated 5 per cent of India’s unutilised water shares flows to downstream Pakistani territory.

TRUMP MOVES TO SANCTION TURKEY AFTER CRITICISM FROM CONGRESS
CNN says facing scathing criticism from Republican lawmakers and members of his own military, President Trump sought to project a harder line on Turkey as the country pushes further into northern Syria. The President said he was applying harsh new sanctions on certain Turkish officials. And in a phone call with the Turkish president, Trump “could not have been more firm” in expressing his displeasure at the incursion, according to Mike Pence. Pence said he would travel to Turkey to help broker a ceasefire between Turkey, Syria and the Kurdish forces who are now aligned with Syria after the US withdrew.

BREXIT: TALKS ENTER LAST DAY BEFORE CRUNCH EU SUMMIT
BBC News says EU and UK officials will resume Brexit talks this morning in the hope of reaching a deal. The prime minister is expected to update the cabinet on the progress of the negotiations. On Tuesday it was reported a deal was imminent amid claims the UK had made concessions over the Irish border. But Downing Street said there was “more work still to do.” After Tuesday’s talks, No 10 said the discussions had been “constructive” and progress was being made. Boris Johnson is facing a race against the clock, he will need a new deal before the two-day EU summit. The UK will leave the EU at 23:00 GMT on 31 October and the PM has insisted he will not request a delay.

HARRY DUNN’S PARENTS MEET TRUMP BUT REFUSE SHOCK MEETING WITH THEIR SON’S ‘KILLER’
The Sun reports the parents of Harry Dunn have met with President Trump in a bid to get their son’s ‘killer’ to return to the UK. Trump attempted to get them face-to-face with Anne Sacoolas, the woman allegedly responsible for Harry Dunn’s death. But the grieving parents refused to meet Sacoolas who was waiting nearby. Trump held hands with mum Charlotte Charles as he ambushed her with the prospect of meeting Anne. Harry’s parents described Trump’s surprising move to bring Sacoolas to the West Wing as “inappropriate” and said such a meeting should only take place in Britain.
