NORTH KOREA WEAPONS TEST ‘WAS OF NEW SUBMARINE-LAUNCHED MISSILE’
France 24 reports North Korea’s latest weapons test was of a submarine-launched ballistic missile – marking a “new phase” in its defence capability – just days before the resumption of stalled nuclear talks with the US. Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said: “The new-type ballistic missile was fired in vertical mode on Wednesday in the waters off Wonsan Bay.” They added: “The successful new-type SLBM test-firing comes to be of great significance as it ushered in a new phase in containing outside forces’ threat.” Kim Jong Un sent “warmest congratulations” to research units involved in the launch.

CNN says when President Trump erupted in rage during two appearances on Wednesday, it foreshadowed a dark and unsettling impeachment season ahead. According to CNN, there was little strategy evident as Trump railed against Democrats and media during public events with Finland’s President. And few new answers that might help the situation he finds himself in. During an East Room press conference, Trump said: “This is the greatest hoax. This is just a continuation of what’s been playing out since my election.” The conference became more heated as Trump faced questions about the situation he’s in. “This is a fraudulent crime on the American people.”

While cheering her as a person, Vladimir Putin still stayed cautious, saying he doesn’t “share the common excitement.” Talking about Greta’s passionate UN speech, he said: “ I may disappoint you but I don’t share the common excitement about the speech by Greta Thunberg,” he said. “No one has explained to Greta that the modern world is complex and different and…people in Africa or in many Asian countries want to live at the same wealth level in Sweden” he added.
