WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle and fellow Olympic Gold Medallist Gable Steveson bring back the milk truck
WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle was back on SmackDown this week for his birthday celebration and he delivered a typically memorable moment in the main event.
The legendary star returned in his hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on Friday night and paired up with fellow Olympic Gold Medallist Gable Steveson to give the latter a memorable first night on the blue brand.
Most of the festivities took place backstage, with WWE sowing the seeds for a potential match between Steveson and Braun Strowman as the latter confronted to the two former Olympians.
Steveson promised the Monster of All Monsters would be his first target if he joins the blue brand officially.
Later, Angle was celebrating with Steveson, Madcap Moss and Emma when he got han ded a ‘#1 Dad’ card which was from his ‘long lost son’ Jason Jordan in a brilliant callback.
Alpha Academy’s Chad Gable and Otis weren’t on the list for the party, and they were dismayed to see the Street Profits allowed in.
At the end of the show, Angle came out to celebrate with a huge cake and thanked the crowd, only to be interrupted by Otis and Gable as they complained about the earlier snub, and threatened to give him another broken freakin’ neck.
The duo started to eat the cake as Angle moved to the ramp where he was joined by Gable in the milk truck as they threw cartons at the pair before firing the canon at them in a brilliantly nostalgic end to the show.
LA Knight targeted by Bray Wyatt and mysterious masked figure, Shotzi suffers broken hand and The Usos retain
SmackDown went straight into the action this week as The Usos successfully defended their gold in an absolute banger against the Brawling Brutes’ Sheamus and Butch.
This was a typically brilliant bout considering the huge talent involved, and having Sami Zayn, Solo Sikoa and Ridge Holland at ringside for their respective sides added to the drama.
Later on, The Bloodline celebrated backstage when Jey Uso pulled Sami to the side and suggested he should cut his hair before a ‘big night’ next week.

Elsewhere, LA Knight called out Bray Wyatt for the sneak attacks he’s suffered over the last few weeks, before showing the mask his rival wore for his Extreme Rules comeback lurking, apparently proving he was behind the attacks.
Uncle Howdy interrupted on the screen urging Wyatt to ‘do it’ because Knight ‘deserves it’, before teasing: ‘The door is closing’.
Later on, Knight stormed backstage in search of Wyatt only to find his t-shirt hanging in the locker room, before the lights went off and on with a mysterious figure in view.

Earlier, the second match of the night didn’t happen as planned with Hit Row coming out to attack both The Viking Raiders and Legado del Fantasma, while B-Fab took care of Valhalla and Zelina Vega.
A contract signing for Ricochet and GUNTHER’s Intercontinental Title match next week predictable descended into chaos, with The New Day coming out to brilliantly warn Adam Pearce.
It all led to a brilliant six-man tag match as Ricochet, Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston beat GUNTHER and his Imperium teammates Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci.
Karrion Kross issued a warning to Rey Mysterio in the trainer’s room, while Shotzi got taken out backstage by Shayna Baszler and Ronda Rousey.
It meant Liv Morgan and Tegan Nox came out to challenge the villainous pair to a match, and they managed to get the win thanks to the assist from Raquel Rodriguez.
