Julius Jones: Death row inmate’s life is spared hours before execution
The Daily Mirror says A convicted murderer due to be executed tonight has had his death sentence reduced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
Julius Jones, 41, was due to die by lethal injection at a state prison in Oklahoma on Thursday after his appeals were denied by the courts and the governor initially refused to spare his life.
However, at the eleventh hour Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt halted the execution, hours before he was scheduled to be put to death for a 22-year-old murder, in a case that has attracted the support of celebrities including Kim Kardashian West.
