INDIA’S CHANDRAYAAN 2 SPACECRAFT ENTERS LUNAR ORBIT
CNN reports India’s Chandrayaan 2 spacecraft entered the lunar orbit on Tuesday. An important step on its journey 
towards the moon. Chandrayaan-2 entered the orbit around midnight Eastern Time in a complicated insertion manoeuvre that took 29 minutes. “Our hearts almost stopped today till it completed its job,” said the chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). If the spacecraft successfully lands on the moon, India will become only the fourth country to soft-land on the moon. So far the US, the former Soviet Union and China have soft-landed a spacecraft on the moon.

TRUMP CALLS FOR RUSSIA TO REJOIN ‘G8’
France 24 reports President Trump has once again called for Russia to rejoin the G7 making it the G8 once again. 
Speaking to reporters the US President said his Democratic predecessor, Barack Obama wanted Russia out of the G8 “because Putin outsmarted him.” The President went on to say: “But I think it’s much more appropriate to have Russia in. It should be the G8 because a lot of things we talk about have to do with Russia.” Adding: “I could certainly see it being the G8 again. If someone would make that motion, I would be disposed to think about it favourably…”. Russia was pushed out of the G8 in 2014 because of its annexation of Crimea from Ukraine.

US BLOCKS BILLIONS OF DOLLARS FROM REACHING IRAN’S REVOLUTIONARY GUARDS
WTX News reports the sanctions slapped on Iran by the US has allowed the US to block “literally billions” in Iranian assets according to US Treasury Secretary. The sanctions signed by President Trump target eight top military commanders as well as Iran’s Supreme Leader and the Revolutionary Guard. WTX News says Iran’s Revolutionary Guard has quietly become one of the most significant political and economic powers in the Islamic Republic.
