EL PASO MASS MURDER SUSPECT PLEADS NOT GUILTY
Aljazeera reports Patrick Crusius, 21 has pleaded not guilty to the El Paso shooting spree that killed 22 people at a Walmart. Another 26 people were injured during the shooting. Crusius, from Texas, is accused of deliberately targetting Mexicans and could face the death penalty if he is convicted. In court, he appeared emotionless and only spoke twice, answering “yes your honour” when asked if his name was correct on the indictment. And “not guilty” when asked for his plea. His defence lawyer said: “It’s our intention to try the case in the courtroom” and not the media, adding he did not want to make the pain worse for the victims’ family members. “There are two sides to every story. There are two sides to this story. It’s our job to make sure the story on Patrick Crusius is told.” he said.

‘HEY EU, WAKE UP,’ ERDOGAN THREATENS TO SEND MILLIONS OF REFUGEES TO EUROPE IF EU LABELS TURKISH OP IN SYRIA AN INVASION
RT News says the Turkish president has warned Europe against criticising his country’s newly-launched military incursion into Syria. And claims he could allow millions of refugees to pour into the EU if he chooses. In his speech, he warned there would be repercussions if Europe viewed Turkey’s operation in Syria as an invasion. “Hey EU, wake up. I say it again: if you try to frame our operation there as an invasion, our task is simple: we will open the doors and send 3.6 million migrants to you,” he said. His threat comes after the Europen Commission President said Ankara “must cease the ongoing military operation” in northeast Syria. Saying it would “not work” and Turkey should not expect Europe’s help with creating a so-called “safe-zone.”

TWO GIULIANI ASSOCIATES ARE FIRST TO BE CHARGED IN TRUMP-UKRAINE PROBE
France 24 says two Florida businessmen tied to Donald Trump’s lawyer and the Ukraine impeachment investigation were charged on Thursday with federal campaign finance violations. The charges relate to a $325,000 donation to a group supporting Trump’s reelection. Lev Parnas and Igor Fruman, associates of Rudy Giuliani, were arrested on Wednesday trying to board an international flight with one-way tickets. Both have been arrested on a four-count indictment that includes charges of conspiracy, making false statements to the Federal Election Commission and falsification of records. The men had key roles in Giuliani’s efforts to launch a Ukraine corruption investigation against Democrat Joe Biden and his son Hunter.
