COMMUNIST CHINA CELEBRATES 70TH BIRTHDAY AMID HONG KONG UNREST
Aljazeera News reports China’s President Xi Jinping opened celebrations on Tuesday to mark 70 years of Communist rule. And vowed, “no force” would be able to shake the country as a massive parade of troops and military hardware showcased China’s strength.
The President said: “There is no force that can shake the foundation of this great nation.” Adding: “No force will be able to stop the steady march forward of the Chinese people and the Chinese nation.” But Hong Kong is still a headache for China. Pro-democracy protesters plan to grab the spotlight this Tuesday with a rally of their own.

FATAL FIRE AT PACKED REFUGEE CAMP SPARKS RIOT AMONG RESIDENTS
CNN says at least one person is confirmed to have died in a fire that broke out at the overcrowded Moria refugee camp in Lesbos. It has led to rioting amongst the residents and clashes with police. A police spokesperson said that “violence towards police erupted” after those living in the camps learned the news of the death. But,
The United Nations’ refugee agency (UNHCR) reported that a woman and a child died in the fire. The violence towards authorities that followed injured four officers and a firefighter. And 17 people were hospitalised with minor injuries and breathing problems.

TRUMP ASKED AUSTRALIAN PM FOR HELP INVESTIGATING RUSSIA INQUIRY
France 24 says Australian PM Scott Morrison has confirmed Donald Trump asked him to help gather information for an inquiry into Robert Mueller’s investigation of Russian meddling in the 2016 election.
An Australian spokesman said in a statement Australia “has always been ready to assist and cooperate with efforts that help shed further light on the matters under investigation.” Adding: “The PM confirmed this readiness once again in conversations with the President.”
