After chaos on the railways earlier in 2022, the UK was braced for more train strikes at the start of November.
Up to 40,000 members of the Rail, Maritime and Transport (RMT) union went on strike in July, with further strikes expected from November 5.
However, these were called off at the last minute.
Despite being called off, the 11th hour cancellations mean that many services are still affected – and it isn’t just impacting trains in the UK – other travel plans could be disrupted – including travel on the Eurostar.
So, do the strikes affect the Eurostar? Here is everything you need to know…
Is Eurostar trains affected by UK rail strikes?
The planned strikes – initially expected to run November 5, 7 and 9 – might have been called off, but Eurostar officials are still warning passengers to expect disruption.

A notice on the Eurostar’s website explains: ‘There will be a national strike in Belgium on 9 November, but the strikes planned for 5, 7 and 9 November in the UK have been called off.’
‘Due to the short-notice cancellation of these strikes, we’re unable to return to a full timetable.’
They offer a revised timetable for passengers to check.
