Who will replace Boris Johnson? Penny Mordaunt odds
Penny Mordaunt, Rishi Sunak and Ben Wallace currently make the top three for most likely to replace Boris Johnson.
In 2019 she became the UK’s first female defence secretary – a natural fit for a naval reservist who had already served as armed forces minister under David Cameron.
Mordaunt has been MP for Portsmouth North since 2010 and is a former head of the Tory party’s youth wing and was a press officer for William Hague when he was party leader.
Prior to Westminster politics, she was a press officer for Kensington and Chelsea Council.

Penny Mordaunt odds
The current favourite to take over as Tory leader is Penny Mordaunt, with odds of 9/2 according to Ladbrokes. Ms Mourdant is currently Minister of State for Trade Policy.
The Portsmouth North MP had an impressive stint as defence minister before being demoted by Mr Johnson in September.
It was speculated that she fell out of favour for backing the Prime Minister’s rival Jeremy Hunt in the last leadership race.
