More and more Call Of Duty: Warzone 2 players claim they’ve been thrown out of the game for getting too many kills.
You’d expect any reasonable shooter to reward you for stacking up kills but some players claim they’ve been experiencing the exact opposite in Warzone 2.
A new bug seems to have surfaced, which not only disconnects players when they get more than 10 kills but also shadow bans them shortly after.
Shadow-banning usually results in players being left waiting for a match in lobbies with cheaters and other players that have been shadow banned.
It’s a common method used to punish cheaters and hackers, often without their knowledge, and it usually lasts for about one or two weeks.
It’s obviously extremely annoying when it happens for no apparent reason, especially when you’re performing well in-game (without using cheats, of course).
The shadow-banning bug was first reported on Twitter by Call Of Duty news account ModernWarzone, and it quickly went viral as many players started sharing their own experiences.
Twitch streamer IceManIsaac posted a clip showing him getting disconnected from Warzone 2 as soon as he got his eleventh kill.
Another streamer said that the same thing happened to him and he had to email Activision to get the issue resolved.
Happened to me twice and had to wait a week before it went away. It stopped after I emailed Activision with a case review but it’s totally unfair and unfortunate.

One player claimed that he’s been shadow banned five times, though he doesn’t think it’s a bug, but rather the game’s ‘badly tuned’ reporting system.
I have been shadow banned 5 times already, doubt that it is a bug, more likely badly tuned reporting system, where if you reach a certain number of reports and kills in a game – say hi to shadowban. And the number of reports is not reseting after the shadowban it seems

Both Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 utilise a new in-game reporting system, that was put in effect by Activision to battle the franchise’s rampant cheaters.
You can check your shadow ban status on the Activision support page. If you’ve received one, you’ll likely see the message ‘Account under review’ appear on your screen.
While popular streamers can get their shadow bans resolved quickly, regular players have had to wait between 24 hours to a couple of weeks for the same.
Unjust shadow bans haven’t been the only issue that Warzone 2 has been facing recently. Reports of hackers knifing players from across Al Mazrah and shooting from inside walls have also come to light, ruining people’s matches.
