Visit the Paris Christmas lights
Paris is a beautiful city and has its own brand of magic at Christmas time. The city of lights is lit even brighter over the festive period and each district of the famous city has something festive going on.
There’s plenty to see whilst taking in the Christmas lights, making Paris one of the best city’s to stroll around during the winter. There’s window shopping, outdoor market stalls and plenty of local food and drink to indulge in.
Paris is covered in Christmas lights since mid-November. Threes are draped with lights and colourful decorations are strung across the streets.
Most of Paris gets covered in sparkle for the Christmas period but the most extravagant is the Champs Elysées. This year’s display runs from 20 November 2022 to 2 January 2023.
Over a million bulbs are hung in the 400 trees along the Champs Elysées. They alternate between plain white and flashing blue (usually between 5 pm and 11.45 pm each night).

Elegant Place Vendôme is decorated with a forest of pine trees lit with white lights.
Bercy Village – the shopping and entertainment district – the sky is filled with glowing hot air balloons.
The Jardin des Plantes botanical garden hosts its Festival of Lights for the third year in a row, featuring giant illuminated sculptures of tiny creatures.
Head to see the lights of the high-end boutiques of Rue du Faubourg-St-Honoré, Avenue Montaigne and the Champs Elysées – with buildings draped with lights or there are colourful patterns projected onto them.
