Virginia Giuffre: Prince Andrew accuser’s deal with Jeffrey Epstein to be released
A potentially vital piece of evidence to a case involving Prince Andrew is set to be made public for the first time later today. The evidence is the 2009 agreement between Virginia Giuffre and sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
It has been ordered to be released by a US judge and Prince Andrew’s lawyers believe it could release him from liability in the case brought by Virginia Giuffre – who accuses Prince Andrew of sexual assault when she was 17.
Prince Andrew has consistently denied the claims.
The Prince’s lawyer – Andrew B Brettler argued at a previous hearing that the “settlement agreement” would end Virginia Giuffre’s lawsuit against Prince Andrew.
The 2009 settlement was reached between Ms Giuffre (also known as Virginia Roberts) and Prince Andrew’s former friend and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein (who committed suicide in prison in 2019).

Brettler previously told a New York hearing the agreement “releases Prince Andrew and others from any purported liability arising from the claims Ms Giuffre asserted against Prince Andrew here”.
US judge Lewis A Kaplan – who is presiding over Andrew’s civil case – is due to hold a video teleconference on Tuesday when a request by the Prince’s legal team to dismiss the case will be heard.
Giuffre is suing Prince Andrew for allegedly sexually assaulting her in London, New York and the Virgin Islands when she was a teenager.
She is seeking unspecified damages, but there is speculation the amount could be in the millions.
She claims she was trafficked by Jeffrey Epstein to have sex with Prince Andrew when she was 17 – a minor under US law.
The judge denied a motion from Andrew’s team to halt the civil proceedings while the issue of where Ms Giuffre lives is dealt with. It is believed she now resides in Australia.
Last week, her lawyers said they were seeking proof Prince Andrew had an inability to sweat – a claim he made in an ill-fated interview with the BBC where he denied the claims Ms Giuffre made.
Last week – Jeffrey Epstein’s former partner Ghislaine Maxwell was found guilty of helping to procure teenage girls for the disgraced financier to sexually abuse.
