Cummings leaks texts: PM calls Hancock ‘totally f*cking hopeless’
Dominic Cummings has published private text messages allegedly from prime minister Boris Johnson, in which the PM brands health secretary Matt Hancock “hopeless.”
Cummings claims Matt Hancock and Boris Johnson had “repeatedly lied about failures.”
Hancock denied lying to the PM about the testing of hospital patients discharged to care homes at the start of the pandemic during his four-hour rebuttal of Dominic Cummings testimony to the same committee.
Cummings has slammed Hancock’s version of events as “fiction” and fired back with a 7,000-word blog post.
It included screenshots of WhatsApp messages, reportedly between Boris Johnson and Dominic Cummings on 27 March last year.
‘They’ve f*cked up ventilators’: ‘It’s Hancock. He has been hopeless’
‘Totally f*cking hopeless’
Cummigns highlights the ramping up of testing capacity in the US and criticises Matt Hancock for saying he was “sceptical” about meeting a target.
Boris Johnson purportedly responds: “Totally [expletive] hopeless.”
In another message, on 27 April last year, the PM appears to call the situation around PPE “a disaster” and alludes to diverting some responsibilities to Cabinet Office minister Michael Gove.
“I can’t think of anything except taking Hancock off and putting Gove on,” Mr Johnson apparently adds.
