EDGWARE ROAD STABBING: BOY, 17 DIES AFTER BROAD DAYLIGHT ATTACK
The Mirror says a murder investigation has been launched after a 17-year-old boy was fatally stabbed on a busy London street. The attack happened in broad daylight on Tuesday. Police were called to Edgware Road following reports of stabbing at 1:54 pm. The London Ambulance Service treated the teen for multiple knife wounds but he died in hospital at 7:30 pm. A Section 60 stop and search order was put in place for the area until Wednesday morning. Police are calling for witnesses to come forward. DCI Andy Partridge, from the Specialist Crime Command, said: “We know that lots of people were in the area at the time and may well have seen what unfolded. We need them to do the right thing and get in touch right away with what they saw along with any images or moving footage captured before, during or after the attack.”

ALESHA MACPHAIL MURDERER AARON CAMPBELL HAS SENTENCE CUT BY THREE YEARS
The Telegraph says the teen who abducted, raped and murdered 6-year-old Alesha MacPhail has had his minimum sentence reduced by three years. Judges at the Criminal Appeal Court in Edinburgh ruled Aaron Campbell should serve a minimum of 24 years before being considered for release. His original minimum sentence was 27 years. It was ruled the original sentence was “excessive” given Campbell was 16 when he committed the horrific crime. It was said that Campbell, now 17, may have a chance to be rehabilitated. But said there was no guarantee he would be free after 24 years. The appeal hearing heard from a psychologist who doubted Campbell’s capacity or desire to change his behaviour. And said the risks remain for the foreseeable future.

BREXIT: BORIS SAYS A DEAL IS POSSIBLE
BBC News reports the PM has said “there is a way” of the UK getting a new Brexit deal, as he defended his decision to suspend Parliament for five weeks. Johnson said “loads of people” want a deal, but he was prepared to leave without one if “absolutely necessary.” He said: “There is a way of getting a deal but it will take a lot of hard work – but we must be prepared to come out without a deal.” Parliament will not sit again until 14 October, just three days before a crucial Brexit summit of EU leaders. On Tuesday, the Commons was subjected to MPs shouting: “Shame on you” and some had signs saying “silenced.” During the five-week suspension, parties will hold their annual conferences. But there will be no debates, votes or committee scrutiny sessions.
