MAN, 20, CHARGED WITH PC’S MURDER

BBC News reports a man has been charged with murdering PC Andrew Harper. The 28-year-old newlywed PC was investigating a burglary when he was hit and dragged along the road by a vehicle. Jed Foster, 20 of Reading has been charged with his murder and the theft of a quad bike. He will appear at Reading Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday morning. Nine others, aged between 13 and 30 who were arrested have been released on bail until 13 September.

PM RIPS APART MAY’S BREXIT DEAL IN SCATHING LETTER TO THE EU

The Express says Boris Johnson attacked former PM Theresa May’s Brexit deal in an abrupt letter outlining his demands on the Irish backstop. The letter begins with his position of attempting to secure a deal with the EU. And lays down the law on what the UK wants. The PM has called the backstop “anti-democratic and inconsistent with the sovereignty of the UK.”  

The Independent adds the PM has been accused of having no negotiation strategy as the letter simply reiterates the Brexit demand of scraping the backstop.

ELTON JOHN CONDEMNS MEDIA’S ‘CHARACTER ASSASSINATION’ OF HARRY AND MEGHAN

The Independent reports, Elton John has condemned media criticism of Prince Harry and The Duchess of Sussex after they used two private jets in one week. Elton, a close friend of the late Princess Diana, compared the backlash faced by the couple as being similar to what Diana endured. In a post on Instagram.

Elton says he feels obliged to protect Harry from the “unnecessary press intrusion” that contributed to his mother’s death.  Adding, he provided them with a private jet and paid for the flight to be carbon offset.

LUCAS DOBSON: RIVER SEARCH CONTINUES FOR MISSING BOY

iNews says, the search for missing Lucas Dobson, 6, continues after the boy fell into the River Stour on Saturday. Police confirmed on Monday they are continuing the search, however, they have said they are “unlikely” to be able to rescue Lucas.

Lucas was swept away by the river around 1:30 pm on Saturday after he slipped and fell on a family fishing trip. More than 100 emergency service personnel and 200 volunteers have been searching the river to help find Lucas.
