BREXIT: NEXT WEEK ‘ONLY OPPORTUNITY’ TO ACT ON NO-DEAL
BBC News says ex-minister David Gauke warns next week could be MPs’ “only opportunity” to challenge a no-deal Brexit. Gauke’s message comes after Prime Minister Boris Johnson got the green light to suspend parliament. The suspension will last around 5-weeks during the crucial run-up to Brexit. Opposition parties have accused the PM of shutting down parliament with “the sole aim” of stopping MPs from preventing a no-deal. Gauke said the public did not want a no-deal Brexit but options to such an exit have “now narrowed.”

NORA’S FAMILY ASK FOR PRIVACY AS THEY START PREPARATIONS FOR TEENS FUNERAL
The Irish Post says the family of Nora Quoirin have asked for privacy as they prepare to lay the teenager to rest. Speaking on behalf of the family Matthew Searle, said Nora has been taken to a “private place” ahead of her funeral. He said: “The family and Nora have left Malaysia.” Adding: “And as for where she’s gone to, we’re keeping that private for privacy reasons.” And “Funeral arrangements are underway,” he said. The London teen died in unexplained circumstances whilst on holiday with her family. Her body was found 10 days after she disappeared from the holiday resort she was staying in. An autopsy revealed she died of starvation and stress.

17-YEAR-OLD STABBED TEEN TO DEATH AFTER SHE ‘REFUSED TO BE HIS GIRLFRIEND’
The Sun reports Thomas Griffiths, 17, stabbed Ellie Gould to death because she refused to be his girlfriend. He admitted on Thursday, at Bristol Crown Court, to murdering Gould, also 17, at her parents’ house on May 3. Griffiths can now be identified after a judge lifted reporting restrictions. He is due to be sentenced at a later date. At around 3.15pm on May 3 emergency services rushed to the family home where Ellie lived with her parents and brother. They found the A-level student with stab wounds and sadly she could not be saved. Griffiths was arrested later the same day, seven miles away. The family have said: “We would like Ellie to be remembered as a kind, caring young lady with a wonderful, fun personality.”
