US SENATE CAN’T STOP TRUMP’S VETOES ON SAUDI ARMS DEAL
France 24 reports, The US Senate has failed to block the US President’s vetoes allowing the Trump administration to move forward with its plans to sell billions of dollars of weapons to Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates.
Trump’s decision to bypass the congressional review and sell the weapons as he plans have drawn great criticism from both parties. However, Monday’s vote failed to override the President’s vetoes failed by 45-40. A two-thirds vote was needed.

TEEN MUSLIM BOY SET ON FIRE BY HINDU MOB – POLICE WON’T INVESTIGATE
WTX News reports, a 15-year-old Muslim boy was beaten and set on fire by a Hindu mob after refusing to chant Hindu slogans. The teenage boy describes how he was set upon by four men, forced to chant Hindu slogans and then set on fire. He was targetted because he is a Muslim.
Police are refusing to investigate the incident as a hate crime and say the minor set himself on fire. They rejected his claims that he was set upon for refusing to chant Hindu slogans and he was attacked by Hindu’s.
WTX News reports this is one of many cases of police cover-ups on hate crimes against Muslims in India since the re-election of the BJP leader. The party has been desperately trying to clean up their Islamophobic image as they negotiate trade deals with middle eastern Muslim countries.

CHINA: HONG KONG PROTESTERS ARE COMMITTING ‘EVIL AND CRIMINAL ACTS’
CNN reports China has accused pro-democracy Hong Kong protesters of committing ‘evil and criminal acts’. The Chinese government claims the actions of the protesters has seriously damaged the city’s “reputation” and “stability.”
A Chinese government spokesman called the situation in Hong Kong “grave” and added the government would not allow any challenge to governments authority or any threats to national security.
He said: “No civilisation or society under the rule of law would ever allow acts of violence to take place. We call on the general public of Hong Kong to be aware of the grave nature of the current situation,”
“Hong Kong is China’s Hong Kong, Hong Kong’s affairs are China’s domestic affairs,” he added.
There have been eight consecutive weeks of unrest in Hong Kong with protesters calling for greater democracy for the city, an inquiry into police brutality and the resignation of Lam.
