Trump selling pieces of his mugshot suit: ‘Most historically significant artifact’

Ex-President Donald Trump is giving away pieces of the suit he wore in his infamous mugshot – to those who spend thousands of dollars on his newest digital trading cards.

Trump on Tuesday announced his latest installment of trading cards, called The Mugshot Edition, and shared how customers can get a piece of the dark blue suit he wore while scowling into the camera.

‘I wonder where that came from, the mugshot edition. Forty-seven all-new stunning cards,’ he said in a video on collecttrumpcards.com.

He said that physical Trump cards would be created for the first time, with pieces of his suit.

‘Purchase 47 digital cards and we’ll mail you a beautiful trading card, it is an authentic piece of the suit I wore when I took that now famous mugshot,’ the ex-president said.

‘And it was a great suit believe me, a really good suit. It’s all cut up and you’re going to be getting a piece of it.

‘I’ll be autographing some of them. A true collector’s item, this is something to give to your family, to your kids, grandchildren.’

Customers who buy 47 digital trading cards – priced at $99 each for a total of about $4,600 – will also be invited to a gala dinner at Mar-a-Lago, he said.

Trump’s suit was authenticated by MEARS, which is one of the largest sports memorabilia authenticators.

The site also provided a detailed description of Trump’s mugshot on August 24 when he was arrested and booked into Fulton County Jail briefly for charges in the Georgia election interference case.

‘This is a moment in history – it’s the first ever mugshot of a United States President,’ states the website.

‘In the photo, Trump has a furrowed brow with a determined gaze which says he’ll never surrender.

‘This card is not just a keepsake; it’s a piece of history and a testament to resilience. It stands as a symbol of President Trump’s unwavering commitment and his enduring dedication to the American Dream.’

It is not the first time that Trump has capitalized on his mugshot to make money.

Shortly after taking his mugshot, Trump started selling official merchandise including shirts, a coffee mug, koozies, a bumper sticker and a signed poster featuring the image.

The Mugshot Edition is Trump’s third installment of digital trading cards, following the first two that ‘sold out in just hours’, the former president said.
