Chelsea will battle Liverpool and Manchester City for the signature of Dortmund superstar Jude Bellingham this summer, despite their £600m outlay over the last two windows.
The Blues have spent big since Todd Boehly’s takeover and their £320m spend in January outstripped the £280m they spent last summer.
The club are walking a Financial Fair Play tightrope but they hope to sell off the likes of Romelu Lukaku, Mateo Kovacic, Hakim Ziyech and Christian Pulisic to raise some necessary funds.
However, Boehly recognises that the club needs more quality throughout the squad if they’re return to the top of the Premier League.
Bellingham, 20, is set to be the biggest mover in this summer’s transfer window with the likes of Liverpool, City and Real Madrid already laying down the groundwork to sign the England international.

As well as their £600m outlay, Chelsea are also outsiders to finish in the top four and their spending power will be limited if they fail to do so.
But the Telegraph say that hasn’t dampened Boehly’s ambition, with the American determined to fight for Bellingham’s signature.

Bellingham is valued at around £120m and would command wages north of £200,000-a-week.
The midfielder has two-and-a-half years left on his deal at Dortmund and the German club feel this summer is their best opportunity to get the highest price for Bellingham.
