Thanks to Kieran Tompsett, the Faithfuls triumphed in the final of The Traitors! (Picture: BBC)
Can we add Kieran Tompsett from The Traitors to the New Year Honours list? Is it too late?
His entrance to the game was certainly unusual, as he and Amos Ogunkoya were kicked out before even stepping foot inside the castle.
But once he was brought back into the game, much to the shock of his fellow players, Kieran meant business – right up until the end.
After being recruited by ultimate Traitor Wilfred Webster and having no choice but to join the dark side, Kieran began to crumble as he slowly realised his fate was in Wilf’s hands… and it wasn’t looking good.
So, when Hannah Byczkowski, Aaron Evans, and Meryl William ousted him in one last roundtable, he saw his opportunity and he well and truly took it.
Refusing to be taken down without taking Wilf down with him, Kieran wrote his fellow Traitor’s name on his slate, delivering the final blow with the line of the series.

‘A parting gift,’ he declared, throwing Wilf right under the bus and casting doubt on the trust of all three remaining Faithfuls.
And just like that, Kieran confessed to his brief stint as a Traitor, having dropped a bomb and opened the door for the Faithfuls to triumph and secure a whopping £101,050.
Explaining his bold decision, Kieran told cameras: ‘I knew it would be a flat out vote for me today, without fail. I can read him like a book. There was no way he was ever gonna share that, like he wasn’t gonna share it with Amanda [Lovett] or Alyssa [Chan].’

‘I want nothing more in my being than Hannah, Aaron and Meryl to split that money. I hope they get him because if they don’t, they’re done, and it’s all over,’ he said.
Thankfully, they did expose Wilf, with even ultra trustworthy Hannah finally seeing the light and opening her eyes to Wilf’s Traitor antics.
Screaming praise from the rooftops for Kieran, Twitter users hailed him a ‘hero’ for his brave move.
‘Kieran is the nation’s hero right now,’ one tweeted.
‘What a selfless guy,’ declared another, with one adding: ‘They all owe Kieran a serious drink though, from villain to hero in one move.’
‘Kieran was always a faithful and he fell on his sword but made sure Wilf was then a dead man walking. Brilliant. The look on Hannah’s face when she twigged has to be THE moment of #TheTraitors. Superb TV,’ a fan tweeted.

And the man of the hour himself had his own ‘parting’ words… and he isn’t bitter either.
‘Thank you for the best experience, I’ve met friends for life!’, he tweeted. ‘Perfect ending to the show, congratulations to the winners and fair play to Wilf.’
What an guy!
The Traitors is available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
