A ‘frustrated’ UK ‘stands with Israel’ but the PM is not happy, after an Iranian special operation attacked military targets in Israel.
A frustrated took to the podium at Downing Street as Sir Keir Starmer says the the United Kingdom ‘stands with Israel’ after Iran fired ballistic missiles at Israel following its incursion into Lebanon to attack Hezbollah targets.
Starmer added that Britain supports Israel’s right to self-defence and urged British nationals to immediately leave Lebanon amid concerns the region ‘is on the brink’

Iran fired ballistic missiles at Israel waves of missiles at Israel hours after US warning. Missile attack on Israel signals that widely feared regional conflict has ignited.
British forces played their part
Defence Secretary John Healey later confirmed British forces played their part in “attempts to prevent further escalation” in the region, though he didn’t specify the exact nature of their involvement.
The Prime MInister was clearly frustrated during his speech. And you could sense he wanted to speak freely and share his frustrations towards the Israeli regime. You have to remember the UK and the US, key allies to Israel, literally pleaded with Netanyahu at the UN, to accept a cease fire and stop the Israeli invasion of Lebanon.
However, that did not work and the PM was forced to peddle the same script, ‘Must stand with Israel and only Israel has a right to defend itself’. Something that is repeated by politicians in north America and western Europe.
“I utterly condemn this attempt by the Iranian regime to harm innocent Israelis, to escalate this incredibly dangerous situation and push the region ever closer to the brink,” he said.
“We stand with Israel and we recognise her right to self-defence in the face of this aggression.”
According to the UN so far Israel has killed close to 50,000 civilians and invaded Palestine and Lebanon.
