For the past five years, The Marvelous Mrs Maisel has made us snort with laughter and fall in love with Rachel Brosnahan’s dynamic portrayal of the titular character, who discovers her penchant for comedy after her husband leaves her.
A fifth and final season of the show is set to air in the near future, with the lead actor sharing a poignant post on Instagram to mark her very last day of filming.
The picture showed Rachel walking through a doorway, her face not visible as she put on a coat.
‘That’s a series wrap on The Marvelous Mrs Maisel,’ the 32-year-old said.
‘This thing was lightening in a bottle. A cast, a crew and creators who got to time travel for 5 years together. It changed my life. I’m eternally grateful. I’ll have more words later, but for now…
‘Thank you and goodnight.’
Plenty of fans expressed how sad they are to be saying goodbye to The Marvelous Mrs Maisel, while also praising the actor on her tremendous performance as the character since 2017.
‘Can’t wait to get my heart broken,’ one Instagram user commented, while another said: ‘You and the cast are brilliant! Thank you for giving the world this masterpiece. You’ll be missed!’

‘What a beautiful ride. So sad for it to end. Thank you to the cast and crew for bringing these wonderful characters and world to life. We’re all better for it,’ another stated.
When it was announced that season five would mark the final outing for the series, the head of Amazon Studios, Jennifer Salke, released a statement celebrating the ‘unparalleled path’ the show had created.
Referencing executive producers Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino, she said: ‘Amy, Dan, and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel have blazed an unparalleled path, elevating the stories we tell about women, challenging the norms in our industry, and forever altering the entertainment landscape with their one-of-a-kind storytelling.’
She continued: ‘The dozens of awards cement Maisel’s legacy in many ways, but what’s even more enduring and poignant are the characters Amy created and the joyous, brilliant, singular world she and Dan brought to life.
‘This series has meant so much to Prime Video and the effects of its success will be felt long after its final season. I can’t wait for fans and our worldwide Prime Video audience to savor each moment as we embark on the culmination of this groundbreaking and unforgettable series.’
The Marvelous Mrs Maisel is available to watch on Prime Video.
