Dear Em, I’m seeing a man who I really like, but I know he’s had a girlfriend for six years and he’s taking Christmas to ‘choose’. I have no idea what to do because I’ve never got on with anyone better.
I’m going to say this to you with my metaphorical hands on your shoulders: you deserve to spend your life with someone who chooses you, without hesitation, every single time.
You are not a chocolate yoghurt, you are not a new toothbrush, you are not a pair of trainers. You are not an eenie-meanie moment. You are not a take it or leave it.
You are, for the right person, the ONLY imaginable outcome.
And so please, for the good of your life, get yourself up and off of this man’s shelf.

Well, sort of.
As Metro’s agony aunt the influencer, author and content creator (busy much?) is primed and ready to be a sympathetic ear, an oracle of wisdom or, quite simply, a stand-in for that girl in the nightclub bathroom you share your thoughts and dreams with while waiting in line.
While she stresses she’s no alternative for therapy, Em is keen to talk through any quandary.
