Rihanna is officially a Golden Globe nominee (Picture: FilmMagic)
Rihanna has a lot to celebrate right now as she landed her first ever Golden Globe nomination, ahead of next year’s ceremony.
The Umbrella singer made a surprise return to the charts recently after dropping Lift Me Up for the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack.
This marked the 34-year-old’s first solo release since 2017 and served as a perfect comeback ahead of her eagerly-anticipated Super Bowl Halftime show next February.
Clearly we weren’t the only ones listening to the track on repeat as it has been named among the nods for best original song.
RiRi is facing stiff competition for the award, facing off against Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift – as well as soundtracks from Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio and RRR.
Reacting to the nomination on Twitter, she penned: ‘God be showin out! @goldenglobes.’
Fans have predicted a RiRi win in January (Picture: WireImage)
Fans were living for the news, flooding her replies and mentions with praise for the nomination and excitement for the upcoming awards – which will take place on January 10.
‘Congrats mama! It’s such a beautiful song, you deserve it,’ one commented.
Another agreed: ‘And she deserves to win all of the awards it’s nominated for!!!’

Rihanna has kept a low profile over the last few months, after welcoming her first child with A$AP Rocky.
However, we’re reportedly set to see a lot more of the What’s My Name singer as she is thought to have signed up to document her return to the spotlight in a new Apple TV+ documentary.
According to reports, she is blessing fans with a feature-length film showcasing her musical journey.
‘Rihanna is a massive force to be reckoned with when it comes to music and so Apple has paid millions,’ a source claimed to the Sun.
