US ‘outraged’, condemns violent crackdown on Iraqi protesters
The US has said it is “outraged” that peaceful Iraqi protesters who are demanding reform are being met with threats and “brutal violence,” spokesman Ned Price has said.
Just two days ago a protester was shot dead and many others left injured at a rally in Baghdad. The protesters had gathered in their thousands to demand accountability from PM Mustafa al-Kadhimi for the murders of prominent Iraqi activists and protesters.
